Leeds Children’s Charity is Smoothwall’s charity of 2017.
Leeds Children’s Charity was founded in 1904 to provide respite for disadvantaged and socially excluded children aged 7 to 11 years. Each year, the charity provides over 400 respite and short break opportunities for the most disadvantaged children in the city of Leeds. Usually referred from schools, social services, and other third sector organisations, a number of the young people they work with and support are already in the care system or have caring responsibilities themselves.
Smoothwall is committed to making a positive impact within Leeds and it’s surrounding areas. This, teamed with Smoothwall’s ongoing commitment to supporting children and ensuring they have the appropriate resources to learn, meant that partnering with Leeds Children’s Charity for 2017 was an easy decision for Smoothwall.
Throughout 2017, Smoothwall will be hosting a number of events including bake-offs, a summer BBQ, participating in the Leeds 10k and many more in order to raise as much money as we can. We are also looking at the volunteer opportunities available to help with the maintenance of their residential buildings.
